PN Bhagwati: Former Chief Justice of India PN Bhagwati passed away on 15 June 2017 following a brief illness in New Delhi. He was 95. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Bhagwati was considered as a pioneer of Judicial Activism in the country for introducing the concept of PILs.
ECOSOC: The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 15 June 2017 re-elected India to another three-year term on the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). India was elected to the ECOSOC with the backing of the Asian and Pacific group of nations.
Yeshe Dorje Thongchi: Eminent litterateur Yeshe Dorje Thongchi was on 15 June 2017 chosen for the Bhupen Hazarika Award 2017. The award will be conferred on Thongchi at a function to be held in Jammu and Kashmir in September 2017 by Pune-based social organization Sarhad.

Kidambi Srikanth: Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth on 18 June 2017 clinched the Indonesia Open Men's Singles trophy with a straight-game victory over Japanese qualifier Kazumasa Sakai in the final. The 2017 Indonesia Open Super Series Premier title is Srikanth’s third Super Series title.
Emmanuel Macron's: French President Emmanuel Macron's En Marche has won a clear parliamentary majority in the 2017 legislative elections, just weeks after his own presidential victory.
ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Pakistan on 18 June 2017 defeated India in the final played at The Oval, London to lift the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
Pakistan won the trophy by 180 runs. The margin of victory was the largest by any team in the final of an ICC ODI tournament.
