15 July: World Youth Skills Day: The World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) was on 15 July 2016 observed globally with the theme Skills Development to Improve Youth Employment.
Happiness Department: Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on 15 July 2016 gave its nod to set up Happiness Department in the state. The department will work as knowledge resource centre on the subject of happiness. Madhya Pradesh became the first state of the country to set up such a Department.
Pema Khandu: Pema Khandu was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh at Raj Bhawan in Itanagar on 17 July 2016. Governor Tataghata Roy administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to him.
Vijender Singh: Vijender Singh, the boxing star from India, on 16 July 2016 clinched the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title at the Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi. To win the title, the six-footer from Haryana defeated former WBC European champion Kerry Hope.
Guruprasad Mohapatra: Odisha-born bureaucrat Guruprasad Mohapatra was on 15 July 2016 appointed as the Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI) with effect from 19 July 2016.
Malcolm Turnbull: Malcolm Turnbull on 19 July 2016 was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Australia for another term.
India’s first e-court: India’s first e-court was opened at High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on 17 July 2016. It was inaugurated by Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B Lokur who heads the e-Committee of the Supreme Court.
Rohit Khandelwal: India's contestant Rohit Khandelwal won the coveted Mister World 2016 title on 19 July 2016. The grand finale of Mr World 2016 was held at the Southport Theatre & Convention Centre in Southport, U.K. With this, Khandelwal has become the first Indian and Asian to win the Mr World title at the competition.

Mohammed Shahid: Mohammed Shahid, one of the greatest names in Indian hockey, died on 20 July 2016 due to severe liver condition and kidney failure. He was 56. Shahid was the part of the Indian hockey team that won the gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
Turkey: Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on 20 July 2016 declared a three-month state of emergency in the country. The emergency was declared in response to the failed coup that happened on 15 July 2016.
2016 Fortune Global 500 list: The 2016 Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest firms was released on 21 July 2016. Seven Indian companies were featured in the list with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) ranked highest at 161st rank with revenues of 54.7 billion US dollars. The overall list was topped by retail giant Walmart.
Kerala Tourism: Kerala Tourism on 21 July 2016 won two Gold Gongs at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Awards. Kerala Tourism bagged the award in recognition of its trend setting marketing initiatives, which have given a boost to the state's profile as a must-visit destination.
