Morning and Evening Sessions

Every year Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC – CGL) for recruitment to different Central Civil posts such as Assistants, Inspector, SI, Divisional Accountant, Statistical Officer, Auditor, Accountant, Junior Accountant, UDC, Tax Assistant, Compiler, for which Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification required.

The recruitment for these posts is done in departments of Central Secretariat Service / Central Vigilance Commission / Intelligence Bureau / Ministry of Railways / Ministry of External Affairs / Ministry of Defence / CBI and a few other Ministries / Departments / Organizations of the Central Govt.


Examination Pattern: There are total 200 questions in SSC CGL exam which are to be attempted within 2 hours. The sections are:

General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 questions/50 marks
General Knowledge and Awareness - 50 questions/50 marks
Quantitative aptitude - 50 questions/50 marks
English Language - 50 questions/50 marks

This year SSC CGL is being conducted on two days i.e. 09-08-2015 and 16-08-2015.

Here we are providing you the exam analysis of first and second shift exam conducted on 09-08-2015.This will help the candidates who are appearing on 16-08-2015 for SSC CGL exam in particular and all other SSC aspirants in general.

So, let’s analyze and review Level of questions asked, Topics on which questions were asked and what is a good score as well as expected cut off.

The SSC CGL Tier I exam had 8 sets of papers (4 each in the morning and evening sessions) including both morning and evening shifts. Type of questions as well as difficulty level was almost identical in both the sessions.

There were 200 questions in the exam with negative marking of one-fourth or 0.25 marks.

The average number of questions attempted by candidate was around 130-140 and score above 110 expected to be a good score for the exam and should be safe for qualifying.
